Welcome to the Australian Web Industry Association Formed in 2002 we are a non-profit association representing and supporting the Australian Web Industry.

2010 Annual General Meeting

The AWIA Annual General Meeting is on Wednesday, August 4th 2010.

This meeting gives you the chance to hear more about what the Australian Web Industry Association (AWIA) has done over the last year, what our aims and plans for the coming year are, and most importantly, allows you the opportunity to get involved in the committee.

That’s right - this year there are Five positions becoming vacant on the AWIA Committee, and we want your involvement! The AWIA Committee meets on the first Wednesday of each month at 4pm, and we rely on volunteer committee members to help run and shape the peak industry body for the Australian Web Industry.

The AGM will be held at 6.00pm on Wednesday, August 4th 2010, at:

The Velvet Lounge (next to the Flying Scotsman)
Cnr. Grosvenor & Beaufort Street
Mount Lawley

There will be free nibbles, networking, elections for positions, reports from office holders and a cash bar. Please come along and
support the work of AWIA.

Don’t miss your chance to get involved — nominations for the AWIA committee close MIDNIGHT, Friday 23rd July!

There are Five committee positions becoming vacant at the AGM this year, including the Chairperson position, with nominations open to all members.

What do committee members do?

Committee members meet each month in Perth for two hours to guide the association’s activities, and help plan events and projects, including speaking nights, the annual Web Awards ceremony, the Edge of the Web conference and other upcoming projects to further the interests of the industry.

WA residents are expected to attend the meetings, and interstate committee members are expected to be available for a teleconference link.

How do I nominate?

To nominate for a position on the board, all you need to do is be a financial member of AWIA, and email a nomination, consisting of a 50-100 word biography to secretary@webindustry.asn.au before midnight 23rd July 2010.

On July 26th, all nominee statements will be published on the AWIA Committee Nomination statements allowing people to read about you before voting (if required) at the AGM.

Proxy Form

If you are unable to attend the Annual General Meeting but would like your vote to count, you can nominate a member to vote on your behalf with a Proxy Form. To do so, download the AWIA Proxy Form and return it before the AGM.
