How-to change your membership details

Since the change over to the new website and membership system we have been getting lots of emails stating "how do I " to change various details.

Instead of continuing to send out individual emails, we thought a small how-to article would of help to you the members.

So let us get started.

Step 1 - the login

  • Login to the website in the upper right hand side of the menu there is a login link.

  • This provides you with a login page. If you have not visited the website in a while you will need to request a new password. This is done by email to make sure you are who you say you are.

Your username is the email address you have provided to us, just like the old site. Your password MUST have 1 uppercase character, 1 numeric character and be at least 8 characters long.

Step 2 - editing your profile

  • Once you are logged in you find the menu choices on the  upper right hand side have changed. You now have your username (this is an email address you provided), a My Account Link as well as a Logout link.

Select the "My Account" link to go to your account Profile page.

  • Your Profile Landing page until you have updated your profile your landing page will look like this, with just your Email (username) showing and a notice to edit your profile. You are also provided with three buttons. One to edit your profile. One to change your email/password and one to renew your account.

We will look at editing your profile first so click on the "Edit Account Profile" button

  • You should now see the image to the left as your account profile page. Fill in the details that you would like to share with us. There are some required fields however, so we can address you properly in any correspondence.

This page holds to sections - one which is contact details and the other is to do with your business if you are a business member. Business members are able to have their profile in the Web Industry Directory area of this website as part of their memberhsip.

At the end of the page there is a "Save Account Profile" button. This saves the information to our sites database where you can edited at any time by logging in and choosing "My Account" and following these processes again.

Once the information has been saved you are sent back to the Account Profile landing page.

Step 3 - edit email and password

  • Change email and password Once you have selected the "Change Email/Password" button it takes you to this page. this is where you can change yoru  contact email which is also used for your username. You can change you password here too. Just remember that you need 1 uppercase character, 1 numeric character and the password needs to be at least 8 characters long. You will also need to put in your old password to confirm that you want to change your password.

At the bottom of this form is  the "Change Email/Password" button which will save the changes you have made to your email and password. It will also send you back to your profile landing page.

Finally Renewal

The final button is to renew your membership. This button takes you to a renewal form where you can fill out your details to renew.

I’m logged in. I click My Account (as per step 2) and it takes me back to the login page. Also, where can we find AWIA logos for use on our own sites?

@andris, it seems as though your account is still setup for the web awards. We will be getting around to converting accounts from Web Awards to full AWIA accounts soon.

@ellen, as an ‘Individual’ Member, you won’t have the ability to select which services will display. Only Business Members have this ability and subsequently get listed on the Business Members Directory.
